Dead Man Found Pinned Beneath Large Tree Branch In North Jersey

It's not clear exactly how long the man was pinned beneath the branch, officials said.

MORRIS COUNTY, NJ — A man was found dead this week in a Morris County backyard, pinned beneath a large tree branch, authorities said.

On Thursday, police were called to a home in the Budd Lake section of Mt. Olive on reports of an unresponsive man.

Authorities found a 67-year-old man pinned beneath what was described as a large tree branch.

Officials added that he was not responding, and "appeared to have suffered serious injuries earlier in the day." It's not clear exactly how long he was pinned beneath the branch.

Atlantic EMS and St Clare’s Paramedics attempted to resuscitate him, but he was pronounced dead on the scene.

The man's death was ruled accidental by Mt. Olive police.
