Man Sought Porn From Morris Co. Girl, Posed As Teen, Cops Say

The 40-year-old Idaho man faces both state and federal charges.

MORRIS COUNTY, NJ — An Idaho man is facing charges after having sexually explicit online chats with a North Jersey teen, according to the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office.

Gregory Williams, 40, has been arrested on child endangerment and child pornography charges following an investigation in Morris County.

An investigation was launched in July 2025 when police learned that a 14-year-old girl had been chatting with Williams, who convinced her he was a 16-year-old boy, officials said.

In those conversations, Williams asked the teenager ā€œseveral timesā€ for nude photos, which he received, and responded by sending her adult pornography, according to prosecutors.

The investigation was spearheaded by the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office, the Wharton Police Department, and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), and led to Williams' arrest in Idaho.

Williams is charged with sexual assault, production of child sexual abuse material, endangering the welfare of a child, and obscenity.

In addition, Williams is federally charged with the transfer of obscene material of a minor and sexual exploitation of children by the U.S. Attorney's Office in Idaho.

Williams is being extradited from Idaho to New Jersey to await court proceedings.
