Mayor Dougherty Wins Reelection In Morristown
Dougherty was reelected as mayor over Republican challenger Alison Deeb.

MORRISTOWN, NJ — Morristown Mayor Tim Dougherty has been reelected to a third term in office, with almost 73 percent of the vote.
Democratic Dougherty bested Republican Councilwoman Alison Deeb, who received 27.06 percent of the vote. Her council term expires at the end of 2019.
"Once again we would like to extend a huge thank you to everyone that worked on our campaign. We would also like to thank the great people of Morristown for once again putting their trust in us to Move Morristown Forward!!" Dougherty wrote on his campaign Facebook page, who held celebrations at the Laundromat Bar Tuesday night.

Dougherty is joined on the town council by three fellow Democrats: Michael Elms, Toshiba Foster, and David Silva.
Under Dougherty, Morristown began a paid sick time ordinance, municipal identification cards for all, and did not see any tax increases on residents.

His tenure has not without issues, however: Dougherty was investigated for violating campaign finance laws in the 2009 election.
