Men Urged to Attend FREE Oral, Head & Neck Cancer Screenings

Head and neck cancer is more common among men than women, especially among HPV-related head and neck cancers.

The Atlantic HPV Center at Morristown Medical Center is offering free oral, head and neck cancer screenings for men and women at locations in Morristown and Rockaway during the month of April.

Head and neck cancer is more common among men than women. Infection with cancer-causing types of the human papillomavirus (HPV) increases a person’s risk of certain head and neck cancers. Alcohol and tobacco use are also major risk factors for head and neck cancers.

Symptoms of head and neck cancers are often vague, and may include a persistent sore throat, hoarseness or change in the voice, lump on the neck, earache, or pain when swallowing. Some people do not exhibit any signs or symptoms. Both men and women are encouraged to get screened.
