Mitchell is in complete solidarity with the Women’s March on Washington’s position that there should be
no cuts, restrictions, or rollbacks on the ability to access reproductive health care services, birth control, HIV/AIDS care and prevention, or medically accurate sexuality education.
Mitchell is and will be an aggressive defender of and voice for Planned Parenthood and Title X health centers that provide vital family planning services. “Every woman should have complete control over her own body and all medical treatment that she determines necessary.”
HE WILL FIGHT FOR EQUAL PAY FOR EQUAL WORK
The law and common decency compel equal pay for equal work. “It is unacceptable to pay women less simply because of who they are, the color of their skin, their sexual orientation, or how many children they may have.” Mitchell will work to sponsor or co-sponsor non-discrimination legislation, pay equity, and transparency in the workplace.
Mitchell Cobert marched in solidarity with women at the Women’s March on January 20th. “This March is a courageous show of unity by women from all walks of life for gender, racial, and economic justice and the right to live, healthy lives free from all forms of inequality. Today, hearing stories like Tammy Murphy’s helped me to better understand the struggles that women face everyday. I want them to know that I stand in support with them."
