Mobile Social Services, Addiction Help Crossing Morris County

MORRIS COUNTY, NJ - Morris County's mobile social-services-center-on-wheels, Navigating Hope, and the Sheriff's Hope One addiction services vehicle will be crisscrossing Morris County over the next six weeks, from Riverdale to Washington Township.

Stops through Jan. 10 in Dover, Florham Park,, Hanover Twp., Lincoln Park, Morristown, Randolph, Riverdale, Rockaway Twp., Washington Twp., and Wharton.

“We are reaching out to residents in all areas of Morris County with Navigating Hope and Hope One to provide Stigma-Free assistance, counseling, and treatment for county residents in need," said Morris County Freeholder Kathy DeFillippo, liaison to the county’s Human Services agencies. "These are residents who may not be able to travel to county offices or who have fallen through the cracks of the system."

The mobile programs visit supermarkets, libraries, churches, train stations, soup kitchens, shopping malls, and many other locations to reach county residents in need of assistance. Navigating Hope's runs frequently are coordinated with the Morris County Sheriff's Hope One van:

  • Dec. 12, Lincoln Park Public Library, 12 Boonton Turnpike, Lincoln Park
  • Dec. 13, Landlord Tenant Court, Morris County Courthouse, 10 Court St., Morristown
  • Dec. 16, Long Valley Pharmacy, 62 East Mill Road, Washington Township
  • Dec. 20, Landlord Tenant Court, Morris County Courthouse, 10 Court St., Morristown
  • Dec. 26, Trinity Soup Kitchen, 123 East Blackwell St., Dover
  • Jan. 6, Walmart, 48 Route 23, Riverdale
  • Jan. 10, Landlord Tenant Court, Morris County Courthouse, 10 Court St., Morristown

Navigating Hope offers on-site benefits eligibility screenings and application assistance, plus linkage to other community services. It is a partnership between the Morris County Department of Human Services and Family Promise of Morris County. Offerings include:

  • EITC (tax credits)
  • WIC (nutritional assistance)
  • Aging services
  • Domestic violence services
  • Veterans services
  • Health & wellness services
  • Legal services
  • Mental health
  • Transportation
