Morris Area Y ZONE PARTNERS WITH EXPLORING TO BRING STEM PROGRAM TO LOCAL MIDDLE SCHOOL STUDENTS
Students To Explore Careers

MORRISTOWN, NJ– November 22, 2016 – The Greater Morristown YMCA is pleased to announce a new partnership with the Exploring program to benefit middle school students interested in learning more about various career fields. Students in grades 6-8 are encouraged to attend the Exploring Club Open House on Monday, November 28 at 4:30 pm located at the Greater Morristown Y Zone (25 Saddle Road Cedar Knolls). The first activity will include a STEM activity provided by Exploring members and engineers from Alcoa. Those interested are encouraged to register for the open house by November 27, 2016 at: http://tinyurl.com/gqg2moh.
“This partnership will allow our local middle school students to explore a different career field every month as well as participate in the Y-Zone teen activities,” says Ryan Deighan, Y Zone Director at the Greater Morristown YMCA.
The Greater Morristown YMCA serves as the sponsor to the Middle School Career Exploring Club where participants will learn about various career fields of their interest. This is a great way for students to expand their knowledge, gain experience, build an internship, and more!

The November activity includes STEM and engineering careers presented by Alcoa. Students are encouraged to respond via R.S.V.P. prior to November 27th.

About Exploring
Exploring is a worksite-based program of Learning for Life, a subsidiary of the Boy Scouts of America, for young men and women who are 11 through 20 years old (15 through 21 in some areas). Exploring units, called "posts" and “clubs”, usually focus on various career fields, such as police, fire/rescue, emergency medical services, healthcare, law, aviation, engineering, or the like, and may be sponsored by a government or business entity.
