Morris County Florist Stole Flowers From Cemetery: Police
The florist is accused of stealing plants from the cemetery over the course of a few months.
PEQUANNOCK, NJ — A flower shop owner is accused of stealing flowers from a local cemetery, Pequannock Township police said in a statement.
For months, flowers, plants and other items has been going missing from the graves in the First Reformed Church Cemetery in Pompton Plains. Police installed a security camera, and on April 23, a woman appeared on the tapes taking plants from outside of a mausoleum.
According to police, the woman drove up in a minivan, took the plants, and drove away. With help from the Riverdale Police Department, Pequannock identified the woman as Lynda S. Wingate, 59, from Riverdale.

Wingate is a former police dispatcher and current flower shop owner in Riverdale, police said. She was charged with theft of moveable property and released with a pending court date.
