Morris County Man Killed In I-287 Crash: Police

The 37-year-old suffered fatal injuries, according to police, who were investigating the collision on Sunday.

MORRISTOWN, NJ — A man was killed in a crash early Sunday morning on Interstate 287 in Morristown, according to state police.

Attem Petiukh, 37, of Wharton, suffered fatal injuries in the collision, police said.

Troopers responded to the scene around 4:15 a.m. on the northbound interstate at milepost 35.8, according to police, who said Petiukh had been negotiating a left curve in the road when the front of his Honda SUV hit the back of a Volvo semitrailer parked on the right shoulder.

No other injuries were reported and the crash remained under investigation as of Sunday afternoon, police said.
