Morris County's $553M Lotto Winner To Be Revealed Friday
Two weeks after the drawing, the newly minted millionaire is ready to come forward.

MORRIS COUNTY, NJ — After two weeks of waiting, the identity of a New Jersey resident won a $533 million Mega Millions jackpot will be revealed Friday morning.
The player's identity will be revealed at a lottery press conference Friday at 11 a.m., New Jersey lottery officials said. Only one winning ticket was sold for the March 30, 2018 Mega Millions drawing that left a local player millions of dollars richer. The winning ticket was sold at Riverdale Lukoil South in Morris County.
Despite speculation, not much is known about who the winner might be. Ameer Krass, the owner of the Lukoil, said last week that store security footage revealed the winner to be a regular customer, but he wasn't naming names.

"I know them, and they are one of our regulars, which is great. That's what we were hoping for," Krass told the Daily Record.
He's hoping that the winner will "do good" with the winnings.

"You can do a lot of good with that money. Enjoy it. You can do a lot of good for yourself, and those around you," he said at a press conference, calling for those around the winner to give him some space.
Winners of exceptionally large jackpots generally wait a few days, if not weeks, before coming forward to claim their winnings. While New Jersey requires winners identities to be revealed, winners usually get legal and financial advice before coming forward.
After taxes, the winner will take home $324.6 million in cash if they choose the lump sum payment. It's the fourth largest jackpot in the games history; the largest jackpot was dawn six years ago and was worth $656 million.
The ticket sold in Riverdale was the only jackpot winning ticket sold. It matched all five white balls (11, 28, 31, 46 and 59), plus the gold Mega Ball (1).
Morris County might have had the only jackpot winner, but other states saw residents take home generous prizes as well. Two tickets sold in Ohio and Texas matched the five white balls to win $1 million each.
