Linda Murphy, Katie Cole Have Commanding Lead For Morris School Board

With 100 percent of the votes counted in the unofficial tally, Linda Murphy and Kathleen Cole hold a significant lead.

MORRISTOWN, NJ — With 100 percent of the unofficial tally in, Linda Murphy and Kathleen "Katie" Cole have a significant lead in the Morris School District's Board of Education race. The results would put Murphy and Cole in two of the board's seats representing Morris Township.

Murphy, who serves as the board's vice president, received 3,016 votes. Cole received 2,867 votes, while Dawn Teresa Parkot generated 1,393 votes. Two seats were available to represent Morris Township on the governing body.

Election results don't become official until certified by the Morris County clerk.

Morris Township represented the Morris board's lone contested election this year. Vivian Rodriguez ran unopposed to represent Morristown on the governing body.
