Morristown Administrator To Take Same Post in Summit

Michael Rogers will begin new job Sept. 8, report said.

Heralded as the best town administrator in the state by Morristown Mayor Tim Dougherty, Michael Rogers is taking his talents elsewhere.

The Morristown administrator has been hired by the city of Summit and will begin in the same capacity there on Sept. 8, according to morristowngreen.com.

Rogers, a Morristown resident, will replace longtime administrator Christopher Cotter, who retired in June, the report said.

Among Rogers’ achievements in Morristown is the recent tax appeal against Morristown Medical Center, which a judge in June agreed with; and the revitalization of South Street, the report said.

Until a new administrator is hired, Morristown Chief Financial officer Frank Mason will steer the ship.
