Morristown-Beard Student-Athletes Sign with Colleges

MBS seniors take their game to the next level

Morristown-Beard School seniors Tyler Faccenda ’17 of Denville, Connor Morin ’17 of Sparta and Kevin Gill ’17 of Chatham recently signed Letters of Intent to continue their athletics on the Division I level next year.

Faccenda, who was named First Team All-NJAC, will play baseball at Lafayette College next year. As a junior, Faccenda batted .328 with two doubles, six RBI, and 10 runs scored. He was 6-0 as a pitcher with a 2.00 ERA and 21 strikeouts in 36 innings. He delivered the game-winning hit in the Crimson’s 4-3 Morris County Championship victory over Randolph High School.

Morin will play lacrosse at Notre Dame next year. He scored 94 goals and 62 assists in his 3-year career at MBS. His accolades include First Team All League - Waterman Division, NJISSA All-Prep B Division, NJAC First Team All Conference, and NJAC Third Team All Prep. This past summer, he was named to the Under Armor All Tournament Team and named MVP for this tournament. Also this summer, Morin was named to the All Tournament Team for Inside Lacrosse Session 3 and also named MVP.

Gill, who has tallied 62 goals and 69 assists for a total of 131 points in his MBS career, will play lacrosse at the University of North Carolina next year. He earned First Team All-Waterman Division, First Team Prep B and Honorable Mention All-NJAC last season. As a sophomore, he helped lead MBS to a 17-5 record and the Prep B Championship.
