Morristown Cops Collect $1,200 For Officer's Cancer Fight
The proceeds of the 'No-Shave November' event will be donated to Randolph Officer Reggie Crowley.
MORRISTOWN, NJ - The shorn faces of Morristown Police Officers feel colder this month now that "No Shave November" is over, but the annual fundraiser netted $1,200 to aid Randolph Police Officer Jeremiah "Reggie" Crowley in his cancer fight.
"No-Shave November" is an event where officers from around the country forgo grooming for a month while contributing money and soliciting donations for a cause of their choice. Morristown PBA Local 43 chose the Crowley family this year.
Each day, 22,000 people die from cancer worldwide, according to the World Health Organization and nearly half of cancer diagnoses and deaths are preventable. No-Shave November's mission is to not only raise funds for cancer research and treatment but to educate the population about preventative measures.

For over seven years, participants around the globe have put down their razors and foregone their hair appointments to join the fight against cancer.
The No-Shave November campaign has successfully raised over $3.5 million dollars to combat this disease. Every dollar raised brings researchers one step closer in the efforts to fund cancer research and education, help prevent the disease, and aid those fighting the battle.

Crowley, was diagnosed with stage IV malignant peripheral nerve sheath sarcoma. While undergoing cancer treatment at Sloan Kettering, he still served the residents of Randolph, the town where he was born and raised and currently lives with his wife Shannon and five-year-old daughter Ryan.
