Each year the Morris County Tourism Bureau and its partners offer a free public Reading of the Declaration of Independence and other activities in and around the Morristown Green. While it’s not possible to hold the popular event in person this year due to COVID restrictions on gatherings, the tradition will continue despite COVID restrictions.
This year Morris Tourism and its partners will celebrate America’s birthday in Morris County with some history of the Declaration and conclude with the annual reading with costumed park rangers Eric Olsen and Tom Winslow, of Morristown National Historical Park. Patrons can view the program on Morristown National Historical Park’s Facebook page beginning at 1 p.m. on Saturday, July 4th. To view the event, visit https://www.facebook.com/MorristownNPS/.

Thank you for you great efforts to celebrate our nation and its history.”
Morris Tourism and its partners Morristown National Historical Park, and the Washington Association of New Jersey are proud to bring the public this free virtual July 4th celebration and look forward to presenting the program in person once gatherings can safely take place.
