Morristown Eyes Time Change for Loud Landscaping, Construction Equipment

Fines could be as high as $2,000 if proposed ordinance is violated, report says.

Morristown’s council voted in favor of introducing an ordinance that would limit the times of use for outdoor landscaping and construction equipment.

According to morristowngreen.com, the measure, once adopted, would limit the use of landscaping machines like leaf blowers and mowers to between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m. on weekdays, and 9 a.m. and 6 p.m. on weekends. The same would go for construction equipment.

The current ordinance allows hours of operation from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. for construction equipment and 7 a.m. to 11 p.m. for landscape machinery, the report says.
