Morristown Girl Scouts deliver gifts to Carol Simon Cancer Center
Brownie Troop 97425 delivered gifts and tours center
Brownie Troop 97425 from Alfred Vail visited the Carol Simon Cancer Center at Morristown Medical Center on January 8th, 2020 where they delivered stones with positive hand-painted messages along with beautiful flower arrangements for patients. The girls learned all about the center and helped display their work made with love in hopes of putting smiles on the patients going through treatment.
A special thank you to those who helped out with this meaningful project which is near and dear to the Troop's hearts:
- Trader Joe's of Denville for generously donating the beautiful flowers.
- Beth Riley of The Potted Garden of Madison for leading the girls in the design and creation of the arrangements.
- Karen DeRenzi (Breast Nurse Navigator) and Jean-Marie Rosone (Coordinator of Integrative Oncology) for welcoming the girls and explaining what cancer patients experience.
- The moms who helped prep stones, cut flowers, clean stems, prep jars and drive the girls over - it takes a village
