Morristown Girl Scout Promotes Awareness of Classical Music

Sheetal Bangalore is promoting awareness and appreciation for classical music among the community as her Girl Scout Gold Award project. She has lined up music students and musicians of all ages and talents for the opportunity to enjoy performing Bach music in a unique and lovely location. The afternoon of music by Johann Sebastian Bach will be held at the Morris Museum this Sunday, March 24, 2019 from 12 PM till 5 PM. This musical event is part of the international movement, Bach in the Subways. As part of soliciting performers, she has reached out one-to-one to 300 public and private schools, music schools, private music teachers, professors in music, professional musicians, orchestras, bands and music organizations! As a result of her efforts, more than 35 groups consisting of over 80 school-age music students, adult musicians and professional musicians from all around New Jersey are scheduled to perform at the event.

Groups Performing in the Museum's entrance pavilion include:

• Allegro Music Academy
• Baroque Orchestra of New Jersey
• The Children's Philharmonic (Do-Re-Mi School of Music & the Arts)
• Lakeland Youth Symphony
• Museum Flute Choir Group

Admission to the entrance pavilion: FREE

Pop-up performances will also be happening throughout the afternoon in the Museum's galleries that will be accessible to the museum's visitors.

Sheetal Bangalore is an Ambassador Girl Scout with Morristown Troop 80727. She currently attends 11th grade at Morristown Hight School. She plays flute and piccolo with the Wind Ensemble at Morristown High School, the Delbarton Abbey Orchestra and the youth orchestra of New Jersey Symphony Orchestra (NJSO)
