Morristown Girl Scouts Rededication and Investiture Ceremony
On January 10, 2016 at Alfred Vail Elementary School, the Girl Scouts of the Greater Morris Area held their Rededication and Investiture Ceremony. This yearly event welcomes new girls or adults into Girl Scouting, reaffirms members’ commitment to the Girl Scout Promise and Law, and provides reflection upon the meaning of Girl Scouting in our lives. The Morristown area currently has 675 Girl Scouts.
The afternoon also recognized troops and individual scouts who have earned a Bronze, Silver or Gold Award in 2015. The Bronze award was earned by Troop 94511: Ximena Castto, Kieran Cunningham, Madeline Cunningham, Kira Donegan, Audreu Fox, Helen Gillespie, Noelle Grossman, Maeve Grennan, Jacqueline Lima, Ellyn McQueeney, Kathryn Meehan, Katelyn Morgan, Charlotte Ottaiano, Daniela Piccola, Scarlett Sukala, and Kathryn Tucker.
The Silver and Gold award recipients presented their community projects to inspire younger Girl Scouts who may pursue these awards in the near future. The Silver award was earned by: Emily Burns, Teresa Capella, Nya Federoff, Christina Ledford, Monica Mihalik, Katie Niatas, Rachel Niatas, Alice Palmer, Emily Skilton, Jessica Vogel, Maggie Waldron, and Sydney Waldron.
The Gold award recipient was Juliet Minor.

Also, during the event, Troop 9071 coordinated a food drive for Food Pantry of the greater Morristown Area.
And of course, there were Girl Scout Cookies. Cookie selling season is January 17 through April 1!
