Morristown Man Sexually Assaulted Several Kids, Teens: Prosecutor

The four victims' ages ranged from 14 to 18, according to authorities.

MORRISTOWN, NJ — A man sexually assaulted several teens in Morristown and Morris Township, according to the Morris County Prosecutor's Office. The four victims' ages ranged from 14 to 18, authorities said.

Ruben Gonzalez, 19, of Morristown, was charged with the following, officials said Thursday:

  • one count of first-degree aggravated sexual assault of a physically helpless victim
  • eight counts of second-degree sexual assault
  • three counts of third-degree endangering the welfare of a child
  • one count of third-degree possession of child pornography
  • seven counts of fourth-degree criminal sexual contact

The "serial" sexual assaults occurred between December 2020 and November in Morristown and Morris Township, the prosecutor's office said. Authorities said they found several videos depicting the sexual exploitation of children on Gonzalez's phone, following an arrest and issuance of a search warrant.

Gonzalez is currently in the Morris County Correctional Jail, the prosecutor's office said Thursday.
