Morristown Medical Center Health Pavilion Recognized by NJBIA

Atlantic Health System’s Morristown Medical Center Health Pavilion in Rockaway, New Jersey was recognized with the 2018 New Good Neighbor Award by the New Jersey Business & Industry Association on Tuesday.

The New Good Neighbor Award recognizes the companies, architects, builders and financial entities whose redevelopment projects have benefited their communities and improved New Jersey’s economic landscape.

Since its opening in April 2016, Morristown Medical Center Health Pavilion has brought high-quality, accessible medical and imaging services to the Rockaway area. The building is home to a range of diagnostic testing and best-in-class health care services including:

• Breast Screening

Upon opening, the pavilion saw only a few hundred patients each month. Now, the facility sees nearly 10,000 patients each month.

In addition to the health and wellness services offered, the Morristown Medical Center Health Pavilion has two rooms on the third floor of the facility available for communities to host health education and wellness classes and other community events. In 2017, Atlantic Health System partnered with Qdoba Mexican Eats of Rockaway, Cuts for You, Caring Transitions of Rockaway, Homewood Suites, and Miracle Ear to establish the Rockaway Area Chamber of Commerce to serve the residents of Rockaway Township, Rockaway Borough, Dover, Wharton, and other nearby municipalities. Merkle currently serves as the Chamber’s president.

The pavilion has created 190 jobs for physicians, nurses, medical assistants, and environmental staff.
