Morristown Medical Center Nationally Ranked in 4 Specialties

U.S. News & World Report says MMC is second best hospital in New Jersey.

Morris County’s largest hospital has once again been named among the nation’s best medical centers in the country.

According to U.S. News & World Report’s annual rankings, released Tuesday, Morristown Medical Center was ranked No. 2 in New Jersey and No. 5 in the New York metro area, also ranking in the top 50 across the country in four categories.

  • Cardiology & Heart Surgery, No. 45
  • Geriatrics, No. 50
  • Orthopedics, No. 29
  • Pulmonology, No. 45

Morristown, owned by Atlantic Health Systems, also received a “high performing” ranking in five other specialties, including:

  • Gastroenterology & GI Surgery
  • Gynecology
  • Nephrology
  • Neurology & Neurosurgery
  • Urology

According to the report, “[Morristown Medical Center] scored high in patient safety, demonstrating commitment to reducing accidents and medical mistakes.”
