Morristown Medical Center Receives Prestigious Emergency Award

The hospital was recognized for having an outstanding emergency room.

MORRISTOWN, NJ — Morristown Medical Center was honored with the Lantern Award by the Emergency Nurses Association for having an outstanding emergency room department.

Only 19 hospital departments nationwide received the award, and Morristown Medical Center was one of three recognized in New Jersey. Departments must "demonstrate excellent practice and innovative performance in leadership, practice, education, advocacy and research" to be honored with the award.

“We’re excited to bestow 19 emergency departments with the Lantern Award this year,” said president of the Emergency Nurses association Jeff Solheim said. “The Lantern Award acts as a visible symbol to patients that the receiving emergency department values excellence and delivers exceptional care. It shines a light on that emergency department’s commitment to providing safe practice and safe care. These departments truly deserve this year’s award.”
