Morristown Nonprofit Plans Free Easter Dinner For Community

The Morristown nonprofit plans a free Easter meal Sunday and said anyone is welcome to join.

MORRISTOWN, NJ — Market Street Mission in Morristown is preparing to serve its annual free Easter dinner for neighbors in need, with an open invitation to anyone in the community who wants to attend. The meal is scheduled for Sunday at 4:30 p.m. at 9 Market St. in Morristown.

The nonprofit also said it will serve Easter dinner that day at its Jersey Shore location at 701 Memorial Drive in Asbury Park. That meal is scheduled for 6 p.m., according to the announcement.

In Morristown, the Mission said the holiday dinner is intended for neighbors in need and others looking for a place to share the meal. The organization said anyone is welcome to join the gathering at its Market Street location.

“We see lives restored and hope renewed every day here at the Mission, and Easter is an especially meaningful time to celebrate new life and the hope of God’s love,” says Market Street Mission CEO Gordon Dahl. “We invite our community to share in that love and joy with a special meal this Easter.”

The Mission said the meal depends on support from donors and volunteers. In its announcement, the organization thanked those who have helped make the event possible for the people it serves.

The free dinner is one of the Mission's annual holiday offerings in Morristown. The group hosts other dinners for various holidays, including Christmas and Thanksgiving.

No reservation information was included in the announcement. The Morristown dinner is set to begin at 4:30 p.m. on Sunday, April 5, at the Mission's location on Market Street.
