MORRISTOWN, NJ — The town of Morristown will be reimbursed $30,721.69 by the federal government for expenses incurred providing additional security when President Donald Trump and his family are in the area.

The news was just announced Wednesday by the office of Congressman Leonard Lance (R, NJ-7), who said he worked with Congressman Rodney Frelinghuysen (R, NJ-11) to secure the funds, along with Somerset County Prosecutor Michael Robertson.

The Trump National Golf Club in Bedminster is now considered a ‘residence of the President’ and thus eligible to apply to receive federal grants for law enforcement to be reimbursed for providing protection. When Trump stays at Bedminster, he often flies in and out of Morristown Municipal Airport. Previously, Rt. 287 has been totally blocked off while the motorcade travels from the airport to the golf course, causing major traffic jams, but lately Trump has been traveling back and forth via helicopter.
