A New Jersey woman was struck and killed by an SUV driven by law enforcement this weekend, according to prosecutors.
The pedestrian, identified as 80-year-old Galina Kustanovich of Morristown, suffered serious injuries and was transported to Morristown Medical Center. She was pronounced dead at approximately 9:30 p.m. on Friday, according to the Passaic County Prosecutor's Office.
The accident happened at approximately 2:12 p.m. on Friday. Police responded to the intersection of Schuyler Place and Ann Street in Morristown where a motor vehicle collision involving a pedestrian took place, according to the PCPO.

Lt. Kristi Allegretta of the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office was operating a county-owned Ford Explorer that was turning left off Schuyler Place and onto Ann Street. Her SUV then struck the pedestrian, Kustanovich, who was attempting to cross Ann Street, according to the PCPO.
"The Morris County Board of Freeholders offers its deepest condolences to the family of Mrs. Galina Kustanovich, who passed from injuries suffered in a pedestrian accident on Friday afternoon, June 7, adjacent to the county government complex in Morristown," the Morris County Board of Freeholders said in a statement. "Board Members lament Mrs. Kustanovich’s passing and will remember her in their thoughts and prayers."

Lt. Allegretta suffered no injuries and there were no other passengers in the vehicle at the time.
The investigation, which is active and ongoing, is being conducted by the Passaic County
Prosecutors Office at the Direction of the Division of Criminal Justice with the assistance of the
Morristown Police Department
