Neil Simon's 'Rumors' Takes The Stage In Morristown

Pioneer Productions will present six performances of the fast-paced comedy starting this week.

MORRISTOWN, NJ — A night of celebration turns into a comedy of chaos when Pioneer Productions brings Neil Simon's "Rumors" to downtown Morristown this November.

The theater company's production of the classic farce will run from this Friday to Nov. 15 at The Stage at Fellowship Hall, located inside Morristown United Methodist Church at 50 South Park Place.

The play follows four affluent couples who gather for an elegant anniversary party hosted by Deputy Mayor Charley Brock and his wife, Myra. But when the first guests arrive, they discover Charley has suffered a gunshot wound to the ear, Myra is missing, and the household staff has vanished.

As more guests arrive, attempts to conceal what happened spiral into increasingly elaborate cover-ups, misunderstandings, and rumors.

Known for its rapid-fire dialogue, physical comedy and escalating confusion, "Rumors" is among Simon's best-known farces.
