Olympic Gymnast Laurie Hernandez Coming To Morristown Festival Of Books

The New Jersey native and 2-time Olympic medalist will discuss her book and take photos with fans.

MORRISTOWN, NJ — Olympic gymnast, best selling author and New Jersey native Laurie Hernandez is scheduled to speak at the 2017 Morristown Festival of Books in October.

Hernandez will discuss her book "I Got This: To Gold and Beyond" on Oct. 14 at the Episcopal Church of the Redeemer. Her book focuses on her Olympic dream and what it took to turn it into a reality.

Attendees will receive a signed book and can pose for a photo with Hernandez. A book, photo pass and admittance to the author talk is $25, although some chaperones can attend for free (for more information, and to buy tickets, click here).

Nicked-named "the human emoji" for her expressive floor routines, the 16-year-old Old Bridge native won an individual silver medal on the balance beam, and was part of the gold medal-winning Final Five team. After returning from the 2016 Olympics in Rio, she won Dancing With The Stars.
