Patient Trashed Morris Co. Hospital, Threatened Staff: Cops

The man caused around $20,000 worth of damage, according to police.

MORRIS COUNTY, NJ — A disorderly patient was arrested over the holiday weekend after destroying a Morris County hospital and threatening its staff, according to police.

On Sunday, just after 11:30 a.m., police were called to Saint Clare's Hospital in Denville on reports of a disorderly patient.

Authorities discovered Alex J. DeGraw, 26, of Jefferson, had threatened multiple healthcare workers before ripping down a large portion of a drop ceiling, police told Patch.

Officials say DeGraw caused around $20,000 in damage to the hospital's property.

He was arrested and charged with criminal mischief, terroristic threats, and endangering another person.
