Paying it Forward Through the Power of a License

Paying it forward through the power of their license - The Artistic Academy of Hair Design raises funds for Camp Nejeda in Stillwater, NJ.

On Tuesday, May 3rd, 2016, The Artistic Academy of Hair Design hosted its semi-annual Beauty-a-Thon raising $16,240.03 in funds for Camp Nejeda in Stillwater, NJ. The students of Artistic Academy were responsible for securing and servicing all appointments, which gave them the opportunity to give back to a noble charity, while honing their industry specialized skills.

“The community spirit our student body has is contagious,” explained Darlene Fox, director of Artistic Academy, “They truly embraced the desire to use their license to give back.” Previous events have raised funds charities including: The Hurricane Sandy Relief Fund, St. Jude Children’s Hospital, Shatterproof and City of Hope.

Camp Nejeda, an independent non-profit summer camp, enhances the lives of children with type 1 diabetes and their families by providing a fun and educational camping experience in a safe environment.
