Person Killed By Train In Morris Twp On Monday
Service was suspended in both directions on the Morris and Essex line after a trespasser was killed.

MORRIS TWP, NJ — A trespasser was struck and killed by a train in Morris Township Monday morning, a New Jersey Transit official told Patch.
An adult male trespasser was struck and killed at 10:26 a.m. near the Convent Station in Morris Township, Jim Smith, an NJT spokesperson told Patch. None of the 50 passengers or crew onboard the train were injured.
Service was suspended between Dover and Summit in both directions on the Morris and Essex line for about three hours midday on Monday. Busses were available to travelers, and tickets are being cross honored with private busses in the area.

The Boonton Line Train 851 left Hoboken at 9:13 a.m. and was traveling westbound to Hackettstown at the time of the incident, Smith said.
