The power of hard work: Jessica Waldeyer
Saint E's student overcomes challenges to earn full-tuition scholarship and academic success.

"School doesn't come naturally to me. I have to work really hard to earn the grades I do," says Jessica Waldeyer, '22, a student at the College of Saint Elizabeth. “My motivation to do well has gotten me to this point.”
A former competitive gymnast, Jessica has channeled her ambitious nature into her time at Saint E’s. In addition to holding two jobs on campus and participating in two collegiate sports, Jessica is also a member of the American Nurses Association. Despite her many responsibilities, Jessica has always been committed to her studies and her mind never strays far from her schoolwork.
“I received the Presidential scholarship from the College of Saint Elizabeth,” explains Jessica. “It has allowed me to focus on my academics rather than being concerned about money and needing to pay off student debt."

By allowing her to focus predominately on her education, Jessica has been able to pursue a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. Upon graduating from the College, she hopes to become a military nurse and positively impact her community. Jessica credits her ability to excel academically and absorb complex medical information to the faculty at Saint E’s.
“The teachers here really care about you and will do what they can for you,” says Jessica. “It’s a tight-knit community and everyone wants to see you succeed.”
