Preschool Advantage has a New Development Director

MORRISTOWN – June 19, 2017 Preschool Advantage welcomes Catherine Chaffee as its new development director. Preschool Advantage, a nonprofit 501C3 organization, privately funds quality preschool education for three- and four-year-old children of families who otherwise would not be able to afford this important early education.
For the 2017/2018 school year, the organization will fund 72 children at 19 select partner preschools in Morris and Somerset Counties. Chaffee assumes a newly created role at Preschool Advantage, vital to the organization’s growth objectives.
“An enthusiastic champion of our mission, Catherine brings expertise in nonprofit development and tremendous energy to Preschool Advantage, both of which are critical to meeting to our goal to significantly increase our funding potential for years to come,” said Eugene Huang, President of the Preschool Advantage Board of Trustees. The Trustees see preschool education as the best the way to bridge the gap to success in school and life that is impossible to overcome for far too many of our local children.

“With Catherine onboard, we are poised to achieve our ambitious goal to fund preschool tuition for at least 100 children, each and every year by 2019-20,” added Molly Dunn, Executive Director.
“I am thrilled to be working with Preschool Advantage staff, board and volunteers to broaden and deepen our donor relationships, both existing and new, so that we may, together, better serve the children in our local communities,” Chaffee responded.

By the age of three, children from lower income families are already developmentally behind their more affluent peers. Research shows the most efficient and effective way to equalize that gap is to give children a quality preschool education so they can enter kindergarten ready to learn and succeed. As adults, children who attend a quality preschool are better educated, interact better with others, are healthier, and have higher economic productivity than those who don't get that opportunity. There are thousands of families in New Jersey who cannot afford to provide their children with early education. Preschool Advantage is committed to addressing this need, one child at a time.
