The Provident Bank Foundation Awards Community Grant to Visions and Pathways

Funding Will Help Vulnerable Youth Prosper

Bridgewater, N.J. (January 5, 2017) – Visions and Pathways (visionsandpathways.org), a nonprofit agency that helps abused, neglected, homeless, and runaway youth throughout New Jersey recently received a community grant in the amount of $5,000 from The Provident Bank Foundation. The funds will support the Prosperity program. Prosperity provides life skills training and employment assistance for vulnerable youth throughout Morris and Somerset counties. Many of the program’s youth are aging out of foster care.

“Visions and Pathways is grateful for the very generous donation from The Provident Bank Foundation,” said David Walker, Visions and Pathways Executive Director. “Each year, approximately 800 youth in New Jersey “age-out” of foster care and are expected to be independent when they turn 18 years old. Very often they do not have support from their families. They cannot access safe, affordable housing or a steady job. Our Prosperity program helps them find a job and keep it, continue their education, and hopefully find an affordable place to live. Thanks to the financial support of foundations like The Provident Bank Foundation, we can help hard working youth get the support they need to become successful adults.”

“Visions and Pathways fills an important need in the community by offering support and assistance to vulnerable youth and teens,” said Jane Kurek, executive director of The Provident Bank Foundation. “We are proud to provide funding to Visions and Pathways’ efforts and to the success of the Prosperity program and the youth they are serving throughout Morris and Somerset counties.”
