'Rain Or Shine' Morristown Ukraine Vigil Planned For Tonight
In the event of rain, the planned community event will be held at Morristown's Presbyterian Church.
MORRISTOWN, NJ — Three months have passed since Russia invaded Ukraine, and families and friends in New Jersey have joined others around the world in doing what they can to assist the country.
On June 2 from 6 to 9 p.m., rain or shine, the Morristown for Ukraine Committee and the Ukrainian American Cultural Center of New Jersey will hold a benefit, rally and vigil on the Green.
In the event of bad weather, the event will be moved to The Presbyterian Church in Morristown.

Mayors from the Morristown area are expected to attend, as are representatives from local churches and temples. All residents are encouraged to visit and learn about Ukrainian culture, as well as to donate supplies and money to those fighting to protect their homes in Ukraine.

Along with local acts, Ukrainian dancers and musicians will perform. There will be lessons on Ukrainian culture and history, followed by a candlelight prayer for the Ukrainian people at sundown.
"This is an opportunity to celebrate the Ukrainian people's heritage and give them help in surviving. Any level of support is appreciated," said Publicity Director Mike Leavy.
