Riker Danzig Sponsors Newport 10,000

Morristown, NJ (May 10, 2018) – For 15 years, Riker Danzig Scherer Hyland & Perretti LLP has been the title sponsor of the Riker Danzig Newport 10,000. This year the race took place on Saturday, May 5th in Newport, on the Jersey City Hudson River waterfront. This 10K (6.2 mile) run attracted more than 1,600 recreational and professional runners this year. Riker Danzig had over 65 runners registered for our team, including our own Elite runner Ashley Higginson! Higginson ran a great race and placed 7th in the Female American Elite division this year. In 2016, she participated in the USA Track & Field Olympic trials. Higginson won a gold medal in the steeplechase at the 2015 Pan American Games in Toronto, and competed for the USA in the steeplechase at the 2013 World Championships in Moscow.

Called "the fastest course in the tri-state area," the Riker Danzig Newport 10,000 has become one of the elite races of the Northeast. The course, described as "flat and fast," weaves through Jersey City brownstones and finishes at Newport along the Hudson County Waterfront Walkway with spectacular views of the New York skyline. Newport, a longtime client of the firm, is a 600-acre waterfront "live, work, shop and dine" community situated opposite lower Manhattan. More information can be found at www.newport10k.com.
