'Rising Star' To Perform At Morris Township Summer Concert Series

MORRIS TOWNSHIP, NJ —Ginty Field will host free entertainment provided by Morris Township Recreation.

On July 12, the park will once again be filled with the sound of music as the annual Summer Concerts Series continues. Jake Thistle and Band will take the stage at the Ginty Field Gazebo at 7 p.m.

Jake Thistle, based in New Jersey, has been entertaining audiences for years with guitar-driven classics and originals.

Thistle, who will attend Rutgers University in the fall, has been hired to perform in Europe and across the United States, including a special private performance at New York's famed Radio City Music Hall and in front of thousands of people at major music festivals.

This will be Thistle's fourth performance for Morris Township audiences.

"Along the way, Jake has personally raised over $100,000 for a variety of charitable organizations through and extensive range of fundraising performances. He has picked the musical brains of rock royalty, such as Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, Steve Winwood and many other influential artists," The Township of Morris Department of Parks and Recreation said.

Thistle has appeared on CBS News, Variety, Billboard, American Songwriter Magazine, BBC Radio, The Record, WCBS FM, NYC's Q104.3 FM, Norman's Rare Guitars, All Guitar Network and numerous other media outlets.

Residents are encouraged to bring food, blankets, and lawn chairs when attending a performance. The Provident Bank is the sponsor of the Morris Township Summer Concert Series.

"Please join us for an evening of great musical fun with a rising young artist from the Garden State," township officials said.
