Roseland residents host 7th annual Alzheimer's run

Running 4 Answers, a race against Alzheimer's

Running 4 Answers, a race against Alzheimer’s (www.running4answers.org), is hosting its seventh annual event on Saturday, April 30, 2016 in Roseland. A USATF-sanctioned 5K race and 2-mile fun run/fitness walk, this event raises money for Alzheimer's research. To date, Running 4 Answers, has donated $205,000 to Cure Alzheimer's Fund (www.curealz.org).
Started by two Roseland residents, Carolyn Mastrangelo and Barbara Geiger, the event was created because Mastrangelo, whose mother passed away from Alzheimer’s in the fall after suffering for 17 years, could not find a race to raise money. She and Geiger started the event with a threefold mission: raise awareness of Alzheimer’s disease, raise money for its research and create a fun community event.

Sponsored by local organizations such as Tri-Coastal Design, Regal Bank, St. Barnabas Health and Fox Rothschild LLP, the race starts at 8:30am and takes place at 19 Harrison Avenue in Roseland, running through Essex Fells. There are cash prizes for the first three race finishers, both male and female. The walk starts at 8:35 and is also in Essex Fells.
