Search For Missing College Student In New Jersey, Elsewhere

The student has been missing for 5 days, authorities say.

A widespread search is underway for a college student who has been missing for 5 days – and could very well be in New Jersey.

Michael McLaughlin, 20, a student at Stony Brook University, is currently missing. The last time McLaughlin was seen or heard from was early Thursday morning, according to authorities.

McLaughlin left campus and drove west and crossed the state line into New Jersey at approximately 6 a.m. on Thursday, according to the Stony Brook Volunteer Ambulance Corps, where he's a member.

He drives a dark gray 2008 Subaru Impreza with New York license plate HRE-5719.
