Update: Officials found Deris Avila-Ulloa safe Wednesday morning in Virginia. The circumstances of her disappearance remain under investigation. Plans are underway for her return to New Jersey.

ROCKAWAY TOWNSHIP, NJ — A Rockaway Township girl has gone missing. The search is underway for Deris Avila-Ulloa, who was last seen at her family's home at 8 p.m. Monday.

Avila-Ulloa also goes by the nicknames Sofia and Daisy. She is believed to be wearing a black jacket, black dress and white socks, according to the Morris County Prosecutor's Office.

She left her home with her cell phone and backpack. Avila-Ulloa has brown hair and brown eyes, and she's 5 feet, 5 inches and about 100 pounds.
