Should Morristown Deed Burnham Park back to the Heirs?
Burnham Park walkthrough with Morristown Mayor, Monday Memorial Day 1:00pm

Should the Town Morristown deed the Park back to the Burnham Heirs? With the outdated restrictions from 1911 and 1914 including:
- Preserving as much as possible its natural state as woodland
- That no ball playing shall, under any circumstances whatever, be allowed on said grounds or the Park on the first day of the week, called Sunday.
- That the games so played shall be confined to boys, and in no case shall professionals be permitted to play.
- That there shall be erected upon said premises no fence, gateway or other structure.
There is a Ball field, Girls do play there, Fences and a Morristown Field House Structure does exist and there is plenty of Natural Woodlands. However, if the deed restricts common sense upkeep, maybe the Burnham Heirs could take back the property and be held to modern day zoning enforcement including but is not limited to:
- Impassable walkways
- Lack of maintenance, deteriorating structures
- Suspected Infestations
- Trash, litter or debris
- Unsanitary conditions
Would the Burnham Heirs want to impose those outdate restrictions if they were responsible for the taxes on the 30 plus acres?
