Small-Format Target Coming To Morris County Shopping Center
The small-format store is the second of its kind in the state.

PARSIPPANY, NJ — A small-format Target is scheduled to open in Parsippany next March, the company announced on Tuesday.
The new Target, located in the Troy Hills Shopping Center, is moving in to the old Pathmark location, and will be much smaller than what shoppers might be used to. Designed to carry only what local customers want, the small-format stores are usually located in dense suburban neighborhoods or college campuses, the company said.
In addition to the usual Target goods, it will also have a CVS Pharmacy, Starbucks, and Order Pickup, which allows online orders to be picked up in-store within an hour.

“The space previously occupied by Pathmark in the Troy Hills Shopping Center was the last available big block of retail space left in Parsippany. I am very pleased to welcome Target to our community,” Mayor James Barberio said in a statement. “Having a corporation that is ranked 25 in Fortune Magazine’s list of 'Most Admired Companies,' providing job opportunities and filling the vacant space is a real coup for Parsippany. Our residents and neighbors will be thrilled to join me in welcoming this wonderful corporation to town.”
“We’re thrilled to bring our second small-format Target to New Jersey with a location in Parsippany’s Troy Hills Shopping Center,” Mark Schindele, senior vice president, Properties, Target said in the same statement. “The Troy Hills Target store will be easily accessible and convenient for the many families and residents in Parsippany and will provide the best that Target has to offer, including stylish and affordable apparel, home accessories and beauty products, along with our grocery offerings.”

The new small-format Target is expected to be 65,100 square feet. For comparison, the typical Target is around 130,00 square feet, a representative told Patch. This is the second small-format Target in the state (Closter was the first).
Target will be hiring "several dozen" new employees to staff the store, the company said in a statement.
