If money is a consideration, then read on. There are at least 81 careers that pay on average $100,000 or more in New Jersey, according to career site Zippia. The website, using data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics, recently compiled a list of the 100 highest-paying jobs in the Garden State.

The highest-paying job in New Jersey, according to Zippia's analysis, is a surgeon. If you become a surgeon, you could make more than $270,000 on average and more than $181,000 to start in New Jersey.

Other careers that pay on average $200,0000 or more in New Jersey include orthodontists, chief executives, psychiatrists, internists, obstetricians and gynecologists.
