A Time to Give – To Morris Habitat for Humanity

Morris Habitat for Humanity wants to encourage residents to consider the importance of giving during this holiday season.

Morris Habitat for Humanity wants to encourage residents to consider the importance of giving during this holiday season. The need is expressed by their homeowners, each of whom have worked at least 300 sweat equity hours as part of their commitment and help “earn” their new homes. Recently one of the homeowner’s sent an email to Carolyn Haraksin, Director Homeowner Relation. The following is an excerpt from that email.

“My husband and I just wanted to send an email to say thank you to you and everyone at Habitat for our wonderful home. We've become very settled-in here and we LOVE our neighborhood and our neighbors....Without our Habitat home we would probably still be in our apartment and the kids would still be sharing a bedroom… we would probably not be able to stay in Madison…the kids would have to switch schools.

We really can never truly express our gratitude enough for what Habitat has given to us; a lifetime of security and a feeling of contentment with our living situation. Thank you soooooo much for this priceless gift!”\

In addition to a direct donation using our website, we offer two other ways to help financially during November and December.

Cyber Monday, is the Monday following Thanksgiving (this year it is 11/28) where online retailers promote exceptional bargains. There are two internet shopping links that can be used for those who wish to have a percentage of their purchases go to Morris Habitat for Humanity.
