MORRISTOWN, NJ - Morris County Sheriff's officers spent Friday brightening the holiday for many in Morris County as part of their charitable initiatives for the season.

Morris County Sheriff's Officers Travis Somerville and William Peralta, president of PBA Local 151 which represents Officers in the Bureau of Law Enforcement, donated dozens of irresistible toys to Goryeb Children's Hospital at Morristown Medical Center, officials said.

Morris County Sheriff James M. Gannon joined the officers for their toy delivery as well.

PBA Local 151 also sponsored the collection of non-perishable foods and coats. Eighty-four pounds of food, collected in boxes over the past month at the Morris County Courthouse and Morris County Administration and Records building, were delivered to the Interfaith Food Pantry, which helps an enormous number of people and families with limited incomes stay nourished throughout the year, officials said.

The coats collected by PBA Local 151 will be distributed to anyone in need by teams for the Morris County Sheriff's Office Hope One mobile substance use resource and recovery program.
