Tri-County Scholarship Fund To Honor MetLife's Steve Goulart
A virtual live-streaming event honoring prominent New Jersey leaders will be held Oct. 25.

Tri-County Scholarship Fund (TCSF) will host its 40th Annual Awards Celebration on Monday, October 25, 2021 as a virtual live-streaming event honoring prominent New Jersey leaders, including Steven J. Goulart, Executive VP and Chief Investment Officer for MetLife Inc., and President of MetLife Investment Management (MIM), the institutional asset management business of MetLife. All three honorees believe in and support the TCSF mission to provide scholarships for many of the state’s most financially disadvantaged children, enabling them to attend accredited K-12 values-based, independent schools. The Awards Celebration is the largest fundraiser for the New Jersey non-profit which in the past forty years since its inception in 1981, has provided over $30 million for over 33,000 scholarships for financially disadvantaged New Jersey children.

To be honored at the 40th Annual Awards Celebration are:
- Steven J. Goulart, Executive VP and Chief Investment Officer for MetLife, Inc., and President of MetLife Investment Management, and a Tri-County Scholarship Fund trustee. Hall of Fame Award
- The Margaret A. Darrin Charitable Trust, major supporters of Tri-County Scholarship Fund, receiving the Making a Difference Award
- Navneet and Reema Puri, of Nevakar Inc. Navneet is Nevakar Founder and Chairman. Reema is the company’s Senior VP of Human Resources. Hall of Fame Award
“We are delighted to recognize the extraordinary success and philanthropy of these three distinguished honorees and especially to recognize their contributions to the needy children in our state” explained Prudence Pigott, President of Tri-County Scholarship Fund. “Their support has created hope and opportunity for hundreds of New Jersey children. Our honorees’ accomplishments in their industries and in serving the community exemplify everything we want our scholarship recipients to follow in their own educational journeys, in the workforce, and in giving back to their own communities.”

Steven J. Goulart was named Chief Investment Officer of MetLife in May 2011. Steve led the development and launch of MetLife Investment Management in 2012, and serves as its president. He oversees MetLife Investment Management’s $666.7 billion in total assets under management and more than 900 investment and support professionals around the world. Steve joined MetLife in 2006 to head the company’s mergers & acquisitions unit and in 2009 was also named Treasurer. Prior to joining MetLife, he held senior positions in investment banking at Bear Stearns, Morgan Stanley and Merrill Lynch.
Steve received a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration from the University of the Pacific, where he was elected to the Pacific Athletic Hall of Fame and served as a member of the board of regents for nine years. He earned his MBA from Harvard Business School.
Steve is an avid golfer, and enjoys spending time with his wife, Kristy, their four daughters, Megan, Hilary (married to Brenton Flynn), Whitney (married to James Griffiths), and Gillian (married to Benjamin Martin), their two granddaughters, Anna Grace and Chesleigh, and four grandsons, Everett, Jordan, Ryan and Matthew.
As a strong believer that all children should have access to quality, values-based education, no matter their zip code or family income level, Steve has been a supporter of Tri-County Scholarship Fund for many years. He has served in leadership as a Tri-County trustee since 2017.
