Two Ice Cream Shops In Morristown Ranked Among Best In NJ: Report

MORRISTOWN, NJ — In the summer, where do you go to cool off with some ice cream? Because of the Garden State's abundance of local creameries, you're bound to get a different answer each time. NJ.com's recent report on the 65 best ice cream shops in New Jersey provided some answers.

With the summer months coming to an end and recent heat waves in New Jersey, now is the ideal time to grab a scoop or two from your neighborhood ice cream parlor.

Two Morristown ice cream shops were named among the best in New Jersey, according to the report.

Beenies, which is located at 38 Morris Street in Morristown, was ranked 57th on the list. Beenies, which opened in 2017, takes pride in being "one of the few places that makes our own dairy base,” informs the website. “What this means is we actually buy gallons of fresh milk and heavy cream, hundreds of pounds of granulated sugar and occasionally even take trips to the grocery store for ingredients."

According to nj.com, the ice cream shop has around 40 flavors year-round, including Mexican Horchata, Nutella Pretzel, and Thai Iced Tea.

South Street Creamery, a laid-back parlor serving ice cream and gelato as well as a cafe menu of crepes and sandwiches, came in 46th place on the list.

Located at 146 South Street, customers can indulge in delectable ice cream flavors like Grandma's Kitchen, which contains cookie dough, frosting, and cake batter. According to nj.com, the popular flavor Chocolate Cookie Monster has three different types of cookies, including cookie dough, Oreos, and mini chocolate chips.
