Vehicle Thefts Occurring In Early-Daylight Hours: Morris Township Police

Be aware when warming up your vehicle in the morning, said Police Chief Mark DiCarlo.

MORRIS TOWNSHIP, NJ — The trend of thefts and attempted thefts from vehicles has hit early-daylight hours, according to Morris Township police. Chief Mark DiCarlo advised people to be aware while warming up their vehicles in the morning.

The crimes have taken place during mornings after 7 a.m., DiCarlo said Wednesday via Nixle. An attempted theft took place at about 10:30 a.m. Monday on Fanok Road but was averted because all vehicles were locked, he said.

"Please continue to lock your doors and remove keys, FOBS and valuables," DiCarlo wrote. "Report suspicious activity immediately!"
