Veterans Valor breaks ground ON STAGE ONE OF "THE HEALING GARDEN" AT FRELINGHUYSEN ARBORETUM

Phase One, "The Gateway," features a monumental black granite sculpture by artist Harry Gordon honoring New Jersey and Morris County veteran

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

MORRISTOWN, NJ — Construction is officially underway on Stage One, "The Gateway," of The Healing Garden at the Frelinghuysen Arboretum, a new dedicated space created by Veterans Valor in conjunction with the County of Morris, to honor and support New Jersey and Morris County veterans and their families.

The centerpiece of The Gateway is a monumental black granite sculpture titled "Sandalphon" by renowned artist Harry Gordon. Measuring 12' x 8' x 4' and curated by the vision of preeminent international art curator, Broadfoot and Broadfoot, the artwork pays homage to Sandalphon—the archangel tradition holds as the tallest of angels, risen from the earth as a bearer of wounds who weaves prayers into garlands of flowers to lift them upward.
