Victim Threatened During Sex Assault In Morristown, Affidavit Says

"I will finish you," Lizandro Osorio-Mejia said, according to court documents.

MORRISTOWN, NJ — The Morristown teenager charged last week in connection with a sexual assault in Morristown allegedly threatened the victim with a rock and a stick, slapped her and threatened, "I will finish you," according to an affidavit obtained by Patch.

Lizandro Osorio-Mejia, 18, who faces several charges, including two counts of first-degree sexual assault, for an incident on the Traction Line Recreation Trail, initially demanded money from the victim, according to court documents.

Authorities said Osorio-Mejia then pushed the victim into a wooded area and attempted to force the victim to perform oral sex while a second unnamed 17-year-old boy stood nearby as a lookout.

Osorio-Mejia fled with his accomplice after being "startled" when the victim bit his penis, the affidavit said.

According to the complaint warrant, the victim suffered a fractured left knee as a result of Osorio-Mejia's knees pinning her to the ground.

The names of the 17-year-old accomplice and the victim have been withheld by authorities.

Two days after the attack, detectives found both suspects exiting an apartment building on Speedwell Avenue in Morristown and arrested them. In an interview, Osorio-Mejia admitted to "going to the location of the incident to rob the victim and also admitted to the sexual assault," the affidavit said.

According to the probable cause affidavit, Osorio-Mejia also admitted to stealing a pair of bicycles and $500 from Shepard Place, as well as conspiring with his accomplice in both the robbery and bike thefts.

Osorio-Mejia was charged with the following (one count each unless otherwise noted):

  • two counts of aggravated sexual assault (first-degree)
  • sexual assault (second-degree)
  • two counts of aggravated criminal sexual contact (third-degree)
  • criminal sexual contact (fourth-degree)
  • robbery (first-degree)
  • conspiracy to commit robbery (first-degree)
  • unlawful possession of a weapon (fourth-degree)
  • possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose (third-degree)
  • terroristic threats (third-degree)
  • aggravated assault (third-degree)
  • theft (fourth-degree)

The 17-year-old was charged with robbery as an accomplice (first-degree), conspiracy to commit (second-degree) and theft (fourth-degree).

Detective Lydia Negron of the Morris County Prosecutor's Office and Brunone of the Sheriff’s Office were the principal investigators.
